The Iowa Podiatric Medical Society Foundation was established decades ago for charitable and educational purposes related to podiatric medicine. The original focus of the IPMS Foundation was to assist in providing funding for podiatric residencies in Iowa.

The Podiatry Foundation is governed by a board of directors who are tasked with managing the financial assets of the IPMS Foundation and also approving and utilizing a portion of these financial assets for podiatric medicine purposes.

The IPMS Foundation has historically provided the following financial assistance:

  • Annually provided funds for podiatric student scholarships to both Des Moines University and Rosalind Franklin University.
  • Paid the APMA and IPMS dues for all first year (A1) and second year (A2) IPMS members.
  • Assisted other IPMS members with their dues payment if they are struggling with an unanticipated financial situation.
  • Assisted in sponsoring podiatric educational programs offered by the Iowa Podiatric Medical Society.
